IFTIHAR was established with the noble goals of promoting science, technology, and human resources development among the Muslim societies in the world
IIFTIHAR believes that sustainable development and equitable prosperity cannot be attained without first making science and technology available to the society and developing mutual cooperation among world nations; and
IIFTIHAR is expected to play its catalytic role in bridging world leadership’s attention towards cooperation, understanding, and harmony among world societies and civilizations including higher education institutions, research institutions/communities, industrial stakeholders, and financial institutions.
THE MECCA COMMITMENT
The Muslim Ummah is witnessing the dawn of a new era. It is aware of the importance of developing human resources, and of the significant role which it can assume in advancing science and technology demanded by such development.
In the current historic transition, it is necessary for the Muslim Ummah to take interest in developing and strengthening its human resources in the best manner so that it will be worthy of trust, and to look forward to striving for excellence in both iman and taqwa, and to promoting science and technology through research and invention.
With such qualified human resources which possess all these values can the Muslim Ummah play a significant role in advancing science and technology at international level and in sustaining peace, prosperity and justice in the world, “We sent thee not, but as a mercy for all creatures”.
Accordingly, we are desirous of working on the development and strengthening of the quality of human resources, and on the advancement of science and technology in conformity with the Islamic values.
We hereby invite all the Muslim organisations and institutions to join us in our contribution and to be faithful to the above commitments through the establishment of “The International Islamic Forum for Science, Technology and Human Resources Development (IIFTIHAR)”.
